About This Product Meybo Patron 2026 Pro XXXL 22.5" BMX Race Bike - Black/Grey/Lime

The Meybo Patron 2026 is what you build when budget isn't the primary constraint. At $2,799, this is a complete bike specced for UCI World Cup-level competition — the HSX Patron alloy frame (same fixed 15mm dropout geometry as the HSX Carbon), an SD Carbon fork, SD Carbon rims, and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. Every component was chosen to race, not to fill a spec sheet.

The HSX Patron frame uses the same fixed chainstay system as the HSX Carbon — your wheel position is identical every time you reinstall, your geometry doesn't shift with gearing changes, and your gate setup is repeatable race after race. The SD Carbon rims keep rotational mass as low as possible without paying for a custom wheelset. The SD Carbon fork is colour-matched to the frame. This is a bike you show up to a national event with and don't change anything before the first gate.

Available in Expert through Pro Cruiser sizes. If you're asking whether your rider is ready for a $2,799 complete bike, the answer is almost always yes if they're racing at state or national level consistently — the equipment becomes the limiting factor before the rider does at that level.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should I order?
Order by your USA BMX racing class first. The Patron Expert covers riders roughly 4'6"–5'0" (ages 9–12). Expert XL fits 4'10"–5'4". Pro XL suits riders 5'6"–5'10". Pro XXL and Pro XXXL are for taller adults from 5'9" upward. If your child is between two sizes, order the size that matches their current USA BMX class — it's more important to match the class than to match height exactly. Call us if you're unsure.

What makes the Patron different from the Superclass?
Three things: the frame, the rims, and the brake. The Patron is built on the HSX Patron alloy frame with a fixed 15mm chainstay system — the same geometry as the HSX Carbon, not just a Superclass frame in disguise. It ships with SD Carbon rims front and rear, where the Superclass uses alloy rims. And it runs Shimano MT501 hydraulic disc braking, same as the Superclass. The carbon rims are where most of the real-world speed difference comes from — lower rotational weight out of the gate and through every section.

What fork does the Patron come with?
The Patron ships with the SD Expert Carbon V2 fork on Expert and Expert XL sizes, and the SD Pro Carbon V2 on Pro and Cruiser sizes. Both are UD carbon fiber legs with a 7000-series aluminum tapered steerer. The fork is colour-matched to the frame colourway.

Does it need assembly?
Yes. The Patron arrives partially assembled and requires professional mechanic completion before the first ride. Carbon components — including the fork — must be installed to manufacturer torque specifications. We strongly recommend having a professional BMX mechanic complete the build. Improperly installed carbon can fail without visible warning.

Is it USA BMX legal?
Yes. The HSX Patron frame meets and exceeds CPSC and EN 14781 standards and is legal for all USA BMX and BMX Canada sanctioned events.

What gearing does it come with?
Gearing varies by size — contact us for the specific chainring/sprocket combination that ships with the size you're ordering. Most Patron builds ship with a standard race gear ratio appropriate for the frame size class.

Can I run OS (oversize) wheels?
Yes. The HSX Patron frame is compatible with standard 20" and OS20 wheels.

BMX Race Frame Size Guide

Frame Size Top Tube Rider Height Approx. Age
Micro / Rascal 15–16" Under 3'8" 3–5 yrs
Mini 17–17.5" 3'8"–4'2" 5–7 yrs
Junior 18–18.7" 4'2"–4'8" 7–9 yrs
Expert 19–19.6" 4'6"–5'0" 9–12 yrs
Expert XL 19.9–20.6" 4'10"–5'4" 11–14 yrs
Pro / Pro XL 20.5–21.5" 5'2"–5'10" 13+ / adult
Pro XXL+ 21.5–23" 5'8" and above Adult
Cruiser 21–23" Any height 8+ (24" wheels)

Size names (Expert, Pro, etc.) refer to fit — not skill level. A beginner can ride a Pro-size frame. When in doubt between two sizes, go with your USA BMX racing class first, rider height second. Questions? Call us — we size riders every day.
