BMX Race Rims

Rotational weight — the mass of components that spin with the wheel — affects acceleration more than static weight elsewhere on the bike. A lighter rim accelerates faster than a heavier one of identical spoke count, because every gram in the rim travels in a circle at wheel speed on every pedal stroke. This is why serious racers prioritise rim weight above almost every other component specification.

This collection covers the full range from alloy race rims for developing riders through UCI-level carbon fiber for elite competition. Avian Venatic carbon rims (our owned brand, built in-house to one specification: as fast as possible), Stay Strong Race DVSN carbon, Pride Racing Helium and Control alloy, and Stay Strong Reactiv alloy rims for youth class builds.

Sizing matters: Mini and Junior class typically use 20x1-1/8" or 20x1-3/8" rims (narrower, lighter); Expert XL and Pro class use 20x1.75" (wider, stronger). Cruiser class uses 24". Spoke count is either 28H (lighter, better for smaller riders) or 36H (standard for Pro class loads). Front and rear rims are not interchangeable — they have different dish profiles.

Use Avian carbon-specific brake pads on all carbon rims. Standard rubber pads will damage the braking surface.
