BMX Brakes
BMX race bikes use a single rear brake — the front brake is removed at most competition levels to reduce weight and eliminate the risk of front-wheel lock-up on gate starts. The brake system covers the complete chain from lever to pad: cable or hydraulic line, caliper, and pad compound matched to your rim material.
V-brake for youth class and training builds, hydraulic disc for competitive riders at Expert class and above. Carbon rim users must use carbon-specific pad compound — standard pads will damage the rim surface. Disc rotor size must match your frame's caliper mount specification — confirm before ordering.
