BMX Race Chainrings

Chainring selection is a gearing decision as much as a parts decision. The chainring tooth count combined with your rear sprocket determines your gear ratio — the single variable that most directly affects whether you're faster on the first straight or the back half of the track. Most racers run 44:16 or 43:16 as a baseline and adjust from there based on track length and their own power profile.

Two bolt circle standards are in use in BMX racing. 110mm BCD 5-bolt: the square taper crank standard, used with Sinz Square Tapered arms and most 3-piece cranks. 104mm BCD 4-bolt: used with most 2-piece cranks including Avian Cadence, Sinz Elite, and Pride Newton SX. Confirm which standard your crank uses before ordering — they are not interchangeable.

Avian (our owned brand), Sinz (our owned brand), and Stay Strong chainrings in 6061 and 7075 alloy. 7075 is a harder alloy that holds tooth profile longer under the load of repeated hard accelerations.
