About This Product Meybo HSX Alloy 2026 BMX Race Frame - Sky/Gold/Black

The Meybo HSX Alloy gives you the same geometry and the same fixed 15mm dropout as the HSX Carbon — just in 6061-T6 hydroformed aluminum instead of carbon. If the HSX Carbon is out of budget right now, this is the legitimate step-down, not a consolation prize. The handling feels the same because the dimensions are the same. That's intentional.

Meybo uses multiple-butted hydroformed tubing throughout — wall thickness varies by location, thicker where structural loads concentrate and thinner everywhere else. The head tube is reinforced for maximum front-end stiffness. The chainstay is solid (not hollow) and uses the same fixed 15mm dropout with integrated tensioner as the Carbon — your chainstay length stays constant regardless of gearing, your wheel installs the same way every time.

BB specification steps up from BB86 (Expert, Expert XL) to BB386 EVO wide shell (Pro and Cruiser), matching the wider crank interface needed as rider size and power output increases. Direct disc mount throughout. Compatible with standard and OS wheels.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the HSX Alloy different from the HSX Carbon?
Same geometry, same fixed 15mm chainstay system, same size run. The HSX Alloy uses 6061-T6 multi-butted hydroformed aluminum instead of carbon fiber. It's heavier — expect roughly 400–600g more than the Carbon — but significantly less expensive and more forgiving of the occasional crash. For a rider who wants HSX geometry without the carbon price or carbon fragility concerns, the Alloy is the correct choice.

What size should I order?
Expert (19.6" TT): riders roughly 4'6"–5'0". Expert XL (20.6" TT): 4'10"–5'4". Pro (21" TT): 5'2"–5'8". Pro XL (21.5" TT)+: adult riders 5'6" and above. Match your USA BMX racing class first. Call us if you're between sizes.

What fork is compatible?
Expert and Expert XL: requires a 1-1/8" straight steerer fork (SD Expert Carbon V2, Avian Versus Pro, Stay Strong Reactiv).
Pro sizes and Cruiser: requires a tapered 1-1/8" to 1.5" fork (SD Pro Carbon V2, Avian Versus Tapered, Pride Apex Tapered).

What BB standard does it use?
BB86 press-fit (Expert, Expert XL). BB386 EVO wide shell (Pro sizes and Cruiser).

Can I use V-brakes?
No. The HSX Alloy is disc only — the disc caliper mounts directly to the frame. V-brake bosses are not present.

Does it include the rear axle?
Yes — 7005 alloy CNC-machined 15mm rear axle included. Fork, headset, and seatpost sold separately.

Size names (Expert, Pro, etc.) refer to fit — not skill level. A beginner can ride a Pro-size frame. When in doubt between two sizes, go with your USA BMX racing class first, rider height second. Questions? Call us — we size riders every day.
