About This Product Meybo Clipper 2026 Cruiser Pro 22" BMX Race Bike - Black/Green/White

The Meybo Clipper 2026 is the step up from the TLNT — a disc race bike with a Cr-Mo Lite fork, Shimano MT401 hydraulic disc brakes, and a component specification that's ready to compete at club and regional level from day one. The key upgrade over the TLNT is the fork: tapered Cr-Mo Lite legs provide noticeably sharper steering response than a straight-leg fork, and Pro 21 and above gain a tapered 1.5" head tube to match — the full Pro geometry package.

Every size is correctly proportioned for its class: Mini and Junior sizes run a 1" head tube and proportioned cockpit; Expert and Expert XL run a 1-1/8" head tube; Pro and Cruiser get the full tapered setup. SD sealed hubs and a complete component spec make this a legitimate race setup rather than an upgrade project waiting to happen.

The Clipper is a popular choice for riders who've outgrown their first race bike and want something they can race seriously at their local tracks without immediately needing to swap components. Everything that's on this bike belongs on a race bike.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Clipper a good first race bike?
Yes — it's the right answer for riders who've outgrown a department store bike or a very entry-level complete and want something they can race seriously without immediately swapping parts. The Shimano MT401 hydraulic disc brakes, tapered fork legs, and Meybo race geometry are all proper race equipment. What you give up vs. the Superclass is the carbon fork — and for a developing racer at club-to-regional level, the Cr-Mo Lite fork on the Clipper is perfectly adequate.

What size should I order?
Mini (17.7" TT): riders 3'8"–4'2" (approx. 5–7 yrs). Junior (18.7" TT): 4'2"–4'8" (7–9 yrs). Expert (19.6" TT): 4'6"–5'0" (9–12 yrs). Expert XL (20.6" TT): 4'10"–5'4". Pro (21" or 22" TT): 5'2"–5'8". Cruiser Pro uses 24" wheels — suitable for any class from 8+. Match your USA BMX racing class first, not just height.

What's the difference between the Clipper and the TLNT?
Fork spec and brake spec. The Clipper uses tapered Cr-Mo Lite fork legs, which improve steering response over a straight-leg fork. Pro 21 and above also get a tapered 1.5" head tube on the Clipper. The TLNT runs a straight fork and straight head tube throughout. Both use the same Meybo race geometry. If your rider is racing consistently at local level and wants a meaningful performance step, the Clipper fork is where you feel it most.

Does it arrive ready to ride?
Partially assembled — professional mechanic final assembly required. Hydraulic disc brakes need to be bled and checked before use.

Is it USA BMX legal?
Yes.

BMX Race Frame Size Guide

Mini 17–17.5" 3'8"–4'2" 5–7 yrs

Pro XXL+ 21.5–23" 5'8" and above Adult
Cruiser 21–23" Any height 8+ (24" wheels)

Size names (Expert, Pro, etc.) refer to fit — not skill level. A beginner can ride a Pro-size frame. When in doubt between two sizes, go with your USA BMX racing class first, rider height second. Questions? Call us — we size riders every day.
